Wendy and I would like to thoroughly endorse/recommend Tim as a guitar teacher. In two years he has been teaching our now 13 year old daughter Grace she has gone from playing basic rhythm songs with simple chord structures and no formal qualifications to the stage now where she is Grade 3 Acoustic and Electric. She plays lead guitar solos, and improvises using her knowledge and ear for the scales she has developed. Musically she has vastly improved, gaining a knowledge and confidence to be able to look at any song and work on it herself. Tim is giving her a life skill that is bringing her enjoyment and a confidence that only being proficient in a musical instrument can give; If only my singing could compliment her skills! Sorry Grace.

Tim has been tutoring our daughter in maths for two terms and has really helped her journey back to being positive about the subject.  His teaching experience is very apparent - he quickly worked out how to get the best from her.  Tim’s sessions are supportive and challenging, and he provides the enrichment and extension opportunities that are difficult to achieve in a busy classroom.  He keeps our daughter working  hard throughout the lesson and she has said “it’s so much easier in school when I’ve already done a subject with Tim”. Best of all is that she really looks forward to seeing Tim every week and as parents we feel assured that she is making good progress and loving her learning.  We would recommend Tim’s Tutoring without hesitation.

 Tim goes out of his way to connect with each individual to bring out the best in them. His lessons are fun and my son always comes out of lessons enthusiastic to learn as well as making excellent progress. Tim’s  positive attitude helps build up my sons confidence as well as knowledge. 

As an adult guitar pupil of Tims I can honestly say I’ve made much more progress than I ever thought I would. His lessons are fun and he always gives positive feedback to build confidence. 

(The best bit is Tim accompanies me and everything sounds much better than I actually am… am I allowed to include this? Hehe!)

Throughout Year 4 and into Year 5 I had noticed my own maths weakness in my daughter, with the support of the school they put things in place but we still felt she needed something extra.Working in a school I put the feelers out amongst my fellow professionals and was told about Tim, let me also add that a professional recommendation is top advice! Tim has plugged many gaps in her knowledge and has certainly bridged the gap but more importantly to us is the trusted relationship she has in Tim and the confidence that resides in her now which has been well noticed in school. Most recently SATS have been undertaken without an air of reluctance or worry around the maths papers which I wole heartedly know would not have been the case without Tim on board.

Tim has been tutoring both my girls for the past two years and what a huge

difference he has made.

Tim is a fantastic teacher who has many years of experience. He has taught both our children over the years and was always one of their favourites. He is both extremely knowledgeable and patient and really makes learning enjoyable. Tim also tutored our son in electric guitar up to grade 5. He loved his lessons and, thanks largely to Tim, is now studying music full time at college.

I have known Tim Potter for 36 years- as a room mate at University of Winchester and as a dedicated and inspirational teacher.
